Many thanks , have you any idea what component u17 is?, also do you have a pic showing where the cmos battery is? |

I think that that is not used for a separate plate RTC battery. I can not find any connector for battery or soldering place for battery in other photos. U17 has marking "4608" or "4603". Marking style as ROHM or PANASONIC. Maybe comparator? I dont know. |

Aparently its I2C BUS 8Kbit(1024x8bit) EEPROM - BR24G08FJ-3A. Im not sure what its used for but I cannot find the ic anywhere, The motherboard is doing the same thing regardless if it was there or not. I also swapped out the sio again in case the previous one was faulty but it still the same behaviour. Switches on by itself, power led lit fan spin for about a second then doesnt spin again regardless of CPu temp. Black screen and cpu gets boiling hot also laptop only draws .5A and 1.5a when the batteryt is inserted but same behaviour. |
