Hi to everyone.

I've got an RTX3060 with an issue on PEX_WAKE - Short to Ground (around 3 ohms).
Zotac Gaming GeForce 3060 Twin Edge OC 12GB
P/N: 9288-2N630-301Z8
This card is almost identical to GV-N3060VISION OC-12GD.
The only schematic that I've got is GV-N3060VISION OC-12GD PG190-A02 Rev1.01.
Q502 is not populated on the card. I'm afraid that the signal goes straight to the chipset.
All tensions are present and good PEXVDD, FBVDDQ, NVVDD, 1.8V, 5V
I have a similar one from Gigabyte GV-N3060GAMING OC-12GD - on PEX_WAKE the measured value is 2.5 Kohm which is normal. Also, Q502 is missing.

Best Regards,
Bogdan Deac

Zotac Gaming GeForce 3060 Twin Edge OC 12
PEXVDD, FBVDDQ, NVVDD, 1.8V, 5V

Bogdan Deac

There should be a small SOT-23, maybe smaller mosfet. This is bidirectional level shifter. It may be present or not, who knows. I checked some other schematics and the circuit is definitely a level shifter.
Please refer to https://circuitdigest.com/tutorial/bi-d ... ing-mosfet

You have to search around PCB if you don't have schematic. The easiest way is to use a fine copper brush, metallic and soft in general. You can brush all components with multimeter to find where the trace goes.
You say it is 3 ohms. I don't see the GND in this circuit, suspicious.

Thank you very much for your reply. My friend wanted to use the card for mining.
He did not put spacers between the case and PCI-E slot on the motherboard. He shorted some pins.
PCI-E data lines are fine, the chipset is getting warm but there's no activity on the DI / DO CLK at the BIOS chip.

No activity on the bios chip is very bad. It may be a total GPU failure. Level shifter does not involve a ground. It is driven by the ground and open circuit and signals are based on pull up resistors. It looks like this level shifter mosfet is shoot through and at the same time the GPIO pin from his GPU has almost short. It does not look good.
I need schematic to tell for sure. If it goes directly to the chip it is more than game over. What resistances are on 3.3 and 1.8 ?

If Q502 is missing, how does te circuit look like?

-----------
WAKE# signal description:
https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/p ... ion/178589
So you can try to cut it for a moment but it is an output to wake computer from sleep, active low with pull up on the card. When is the wake needed on the graphic card? Maybe when it has USB and you plug a device connected to the GPU or a display.
May it prevent reading the bios? I don't think so, but who knows :-) Maybe a motherboard does not send refclk? Is the refclk needed to read the bios? Good question.

There is also CLKREQ# in the loop. I Have such card, probably it is 2070 or 2080 with everything correct but only without activity on the bios and a little bit too high resistance of the 1.8V rail. There is 1500 ohms. Is it good or bad, I mean acceptable for 2080?
I will investigate WAKE#, CLKREQ# and some other signals again.

I did a very stupid mistake :wo_ol: . The signal that was shorted is PEX_RST - found U513 shorted (NL17SZ08DFT2G) and replace with NC7SVL08P5X.
The card is starting only sometimes used as the primary (with screen image) - can run benchmarks and it's stable.
As secondary is running all the time.
I will dig more. Thank you very much for your reply.

When it sometimes boots it may be a slow bios chip, faulty bios chip. Unsolder it and put a new one or from a donor.
Do you have a scope? How does the PEX_RST# look like before and after the buffer?
